The first time I checked out Mad Egg, it had just popped up in town. I figured they'd serve yummy food like most new spots do. But fast forward a few years, I went back there and was stoked to see that their food quality and taste were still top-notch. It's somewhat underrated, so I wanted to spread the word about this fantastic place through this blog.

On a sunny Sunday afternoon, I had the pleasure of visiting the Liffey Valley branch, where I was fortunate to secure a seat in their outdoor dining area. As the pioneer of Ireland's free-range fried chicken concept, I was eager to dive into their burger options.

Love Me Cheezy

In Ireland, many establishments offer various fries and chicken wings as starters. These appetizers can sometimes be very filling, leaving little room for the main course. To avoid this, we opted for a unique starter named "Love Me Cheezy." This appetizer consists of five pieces of chicken accompanied by rich melted cheese, zesty Mad Egg Jalapeño hot sauce, and tangy pickles. Despite the spicy kick from the hot sauce, the chicken remained remarkably tender and exceptionally flavorful.

OG

My husband chose the OG burger, a standout among the burger options. This burger featured a buffalo and ranch sauced chicken fillet, complemented by pickles and lettuce. The burger size is moderate, making it a satisfying choice for those with a reasonable appetite.

It's worth noting that the burger bun was just as mouthwatering as the burger itself. They utilize the delightful Amish roll from Coghlan's bakery, a freshly baked creation that maintains its soft and fluffy texture, perfectly complementing the chicken filling.

Heartbreaker

I chose the Heartbreaker burger for my main course. This substantial burger featured a generously sized chicken fillet that extended beyond the confines of the bun. Topped with melting cheese, zesty Mad Egg Jalapeño hot sauce, and tangy pickles, the burger was a delightful combination of flavours. Though it proved a bit messy to consume due to the ample fillet size causing it to spill out of the bun, the sheer deliciousness of the burger made every messy bite absolutely worthwhile.

Mad Egg stands out for its exclusive chicken menu options. As a rapidly expanding brand, it has established its presence with five convenient locations across Dublin. Do check it out next when you crave a delicious burger.
